Susan Furze arrived in Canada from England in 1990, having spent most of her working life in office administration and living in various countries. Knowing that she would be building a house on the Sunshine Coast, she completed her first stained glass course in 1992 in Vancouver. She says the first night she attended, she knew she was going to be passionate about this medium. After about four years, she turned her hobby into her profession. Susan continually upgrades her skills by attending courses both in glass and basic art.She has now also added fusing to allow a third dimension and enjoys taking risks and challenges with glass. Susan’s work includes both functional items and purely decorative pieces and she has completed both private and public commissions.
